Anja Suša

Anja Suša (Belgrade, 1973). She graduated from the department of theatre and radio directing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in 1995. She earned her MA degree from the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade, department of general contemporary history in 2002. She attended a one year long advance professional training in theatrology at Vienna University, as a recipient of Herder scholarship (Afred Toepfer Foundation), 2001-2002. She is one of the founders and artistic director of Torpedo theatre troupe (1997-2001).

The primary focus of her professional interests is related to contemporary drama. Her directing work includes authors such as: Peter Shaffer, Anthony Shaffer, Michael Frayn, Rona Munro, M.F. Majenburg, Albert Ostermaier, William Shakespeare, Nicolas Wright, Martin McDonagh, Ivan Viripayev, David Mamet, as well as some younger Serbian authors (M. Karaklajić).

She is a selector of Bitef Festival since 2006, director and artistic director of Little Theatre “Duško Radović” and a member of editorial board of theatre journal “Teatron”.
